Happy Halloween, Samhain, and Dia de los Muertos! If you haven’t heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project before, they’re a wonderful organization. They advocate for inclusivity of children with allergies and medical conditions in our offerings at this time of year. If you partake in the traditional festivities, please consider including non-food items in your blessing bowl!

And now, 5 things you can do to support your Earth body if you imbibe an excess of sweet treats along with the littles. You may also want to bookmark this to refer back to during the winter holidays!

  • Eat a protein rich meal first! When we’re full we eat less of the treats.
  • Drink a cup of green tea with that meal! The catechins in green tea slow absorption of glucose into the bloodstream and it can improve insulin sensitivity.
  • Arugula salad anyone? Bitter flavor positively influences glucose regulation.
  • Moderate, moderate, moderate. Choose your treat(s), and put the rest away for another time.
  • Go on a walk after enjoying that treat! Even just a 15 minute walk can improve blood sugar regulation.

Have a festive week you all! Much love to you and your ancestors!
