“The obstacle becomes the path.”
My love for both science and mysticism have always been intertwined and I feel incredibly blessed to offer a harmonious fusion that has helped many people. But it hasn't always been easy, and like many of you, I struggled with illness along the way. Keep reading to learn more about my own 'journey towards health'!
My healing and healer's journey began as a child in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I was a sensitive child and felt the presence of nature Spirits, particularly plants and animals. I studied herbalism, biology, and metaphysics from library books and spent many solitary hours with the trees. As I grew, I felt called to explore nature-based Spirituality, and as a teen was mentored in the arts of reiki, manifesting, and chakra alignment by a local group of elders.
During that part of my life, I also had chronic migraines and poor growth. This was the 80's and the recommendations of that time were to eat milkshakes and take over-the-counter pain medicines. These therapies were not successful in my case, and this was my first hint of the path to come, and also the beginnings of compassion for all of us who were unable to find relief in the conventional medical system.
As I grew older, my love of the earth and science led me to an associate’s degree in horticulture and early career as a gardener. This all changed when I experienced my own health crisis, the voice of those early symptoms becoming louder in an effort to be heard. Spirit manifested car accidents, climbing accidents, and eventually autoimmune disease to get me to wake up and pay attention to my body. I had spent years prioritzing care of mind and spirit while neglecting the very reason I was able to be on this extraordinary planet, my body, and the lessons of Spirit she carries.
No longer able to ignore the symptoms of my body, I embarked on my own healing journey, which led me to pursue a doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University. In addition to the rigorous medical courses and clinical training that are part of the making of a naturopathic physician, I pursued advanced studies in homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, and the shamanic arts. I learned to heal with nutrition, plant medicine, energy, and intention. And now I am called to share this wisdom with other embodied souls on a healing journey.
In my spare time, I enjoy connecting with friends, family, nature spirits, and my guides. My hobbies include drumming, journeying, gardening, and playing board games. I am a member of the Flower Essence Society and the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness. My areas of clinical expertise include autoimmune disease, chronic illness (EBV, covid), and biotixin illness (mold, CIRS), through the lens of illness as teacher, body as guide, and Spirit as healer.
